A random AU
[Herschel Layton prefers the quiet life. The call of hunting had never struck a chord with him. No, he always felt more comfortable behind a desk.
That was what probably led him to become an archeology professor at Beacon.
Archeology isn't exactly an exciting topic for young minds, but the professor doesn't seem to mind. In fact, he's just as willing to sit down with a student for a cup of tea instead of giving a lecture. With a bit of prompting, he's even willing to share a few details of an adventure or two with his class.
He can often be found in his classroom, grading papers, helping a student, examining some old fossils, or even just relaxing with a cup of tea.
Or solving a puzzle. He also talks about those a lot. Hey, every Beacon teacher seems to have a quirk.]
